Shampoo Crisis

For those of you who know me, you know that I am a bit of a huge freak when it comes to shampoo. And by freak I mean that I change brands regularly. Like monthly. It's like I change shampoo according to the ticking of my biological clock. Now, I don't even remember a time when I didn't do this because I vaguely remember my mom making comments about it when we would go to Wal-mart and I would inform her I needed new shampoo, so suffice it say, I've been a shampoo change artist for the last 20ish years.

I've been known to use:

There are more, but who can remember 20ish years worth of shampoo choices?? Not this girl. Please note they are not all expensive nor are they all inexpensive. My hair is not a snob nor is it cheap. It just likes shampoo. I'm sure you're wondering why I feel the urge to change brands so often...well, I'll tell you. After a month or so of using a shampoo I start to feel like my hair isn't really clean. I suppose I'm just crazy, but once I get the idea in my head I can't get it out so I'm convinced I'm going around with dirty hair and that everyone is laughing and pointing. It's the wack job in me, but whatev. Needless to say (I love saying that...it's so...needless!), on any given day there will be between 5 and 8 different kinds of shampoo in my shower or somewhere nearby. You may call it craziness, but I like to call it part of my charm.

Obsession

And I'm not talking about the perfume...

Yesterday after work I stopped at Hastings. I know what you're thinking, "Amanda, you already have a million trillion books and your 'to read' pile is taller than you are. AND you don't NEED any more books!" Well, you're right, but I just can't seem to stop. I've been reading like a fiend and I've gone back to my good old stand by, the romance novel. There really isn't anything better, in my opinion, than a romance novel. Lately I've been reading Sandra Hill, Lisa Kleypas, and I just picked up some new Liz Carlyle. But, here's the deal, my trip to Hastings isn't the worst of my obsession, I've found a used book website! It's just too much! Most of the books on there are $3.95 and the shipping is included in the price! It's like I've died and gone to Heaven! I LOVE BOOKS!!! I now know that I could never own one of those electronic reader things. I have to be able to hold my books, feel them, smell them, and turn the pages. They're like little pieces of my soul and I'm just not going to get that feeling from an e-reader. While I'm reading my current book I'm also reading "Black Heels to Tractor Wheels" on The Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond's blog. She's A-MAZ-ING! Originally from Oklahoma, she had gone to California for college and ended up staying for a few years. After deciding it was time for a change in life she came back home for a short stopover before she moved to Chicago. Well, while she was here she met and fell for her future husband whom she refers to as The Marlboro Man. Black Heels is their story and it's exactly what I would want to happen to me in the journey of love and happiness. Anyway, she keeps a blog and she cooks and she's just all around terrific so I highly suggest checking out her site. Plus, she's an Okie and how can you beat that?

And now, back to my Obsession...

No Small Potatoes

Today was a good day. Today was WW week 9. Today I reached my 5% weight loss goal. Normally, I would think 5%?! that's small potatoes...mmmm, potatoes sound yummy...! For example, a 5% discount off of my $10 meal... 50 cents. 50 cents isn't a big deal to me so big whoop. A 5% discount at Kohl's (I'm in shock too! I thought everything was at least 30% off at Kohl's!) on a $500 vacuum cleaner... $25. When compared to 500, 25 just isn't that big of a deal. BUT, 5% of my total weight seems like a HUGE loss! I'm so proud of myself! And at the rate I'm going, I'll reach my next goal by Summer time! Bikini, here I come! Or not...LOL.

Forget You

I'm currently on my fourth round of Forget You, the Glee Cast version, of course! I have it pulled up on Itunes set to repeat and I just can't bring myself to stop it! I love it, love it, love it! I never knew Gwyneth Paltrow could sing, but DAAAANG can she ever. You should probably know that I'm one of those people who prefers the Glee version of songs to the real deal. Ha! They're just so much better in my opinion. Fifth time through....
