Merry Pokes-mas!

In light of recent events such as this girl going to the FIESTA BOWL!!!

099

I thought it fitting that I show how I represent my beloved Pokes at Christmas time.

Plus, I just really, really, really times a million like to take pictures of my Christmas tree! Smile

DSC_0025

I <3 fat little snowmen! (Is it ok to say fat and little in the same sentence about the same object?) Don’t you just want to squeeze his chubby cheeks?

DSC_0031

Pistol Pete is in the house! Pistols Firing!

DSC_0033

He’s even cute in play-do.

Every team needs a BA running back. Smile

At the top. Appropriate after this amazing season we’ve had, don’t you think?

Another fat little snowman. **squeeze, squeeze** Smile

Ah…there she is. In all her glory. Love it.

I wish it wasn’t weird to leave Christmas trees up year round.

I can’t wait to see what neat-o OSU ornaments I add next year, but until then…

Go Pokes!!! Beat the Cardinal!!!

This Week From Sylvia…

Poor, poor Sylvia (my iPhone). I’m such a blogging slacker? blogacker? blog putter offer? post procrastinator? well, whatever it is that means you sporadically blog, that’s me, that poor little Sylvia hasn’t gotten to share her fabulous photos in a couple of weeks.

I’m sorry Sylvia, I’ll try to be better in the future.

And, without further ado! This week from Sylvia we have…

001
Graduation party staples. AKA beer.

003
Last. Final. Ever. Goodbye school!

005
Let’s get ready to party like it’s 1999! Or like December 17, 2011! Haha!

023
I totally made this out of trash! I don’t have a picture of the whole thing, but it says “Congrats Grad!”

022
Aaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!! I FINALLY graduated!!! Aaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!

025
Pretty, pretty necklace from my parents. Thanks mom and dad!

024
Yes, yes, I’m sharing my Christmas tree again, but in my defense I didn’t take this one. It was taken by a friend and text to me so it doesn’t count, right? Right?!

029
Presents!

032
Who’s going to the Fiesta Bowl??? This girl!!! Go Pokes!!!

I hope everyone has a fantastic holiday!

If I remember to do it I’m totally going to share all of my OSU ornaments on here. In fact I think I’ll just continue to post pictures of my Christmas tree all the way through to next year. Winking smile

Christmas is in the Air!

I love, love, love Christmas!

Honestly, I don’t think I know anyone who doesn’t.

Friday, after Thanksgiving, I carted all 9 million of my Christmas boxes in from Sheila (that’s my shed if you didn’t know. Yes, I know its weird to name things, but I’ve never claimed to be normal).

114

Yikes! That’s a lot of deckin’ the halls!

I won’t lie. It took me two days to put up the tree and fancy it all up with fabulousness.

Ok, fine, I was watching football instead of trimming the tree. I couldn’t help it! The pigskin calls to me. It’s like there’s a little voice in my ear whispering, “watch more football. Must watch more football.”

But never fear! I finished her and she is Gorgeous with a capital G.

DSC_0274

In a word: FABULOUS.

I’m in love. Seriously.

Every year I think it couldn’t possibly be any more beautiful than it was the year before, but then it is and I’m in awe. I seriously cannot stop staring at it.

DSC_0261

I love this ornament. Oh, Scarlett, I do declare! Smile

DSC_0265

Every girl needs a Y’all ball!

I’m so funny, I crack myself up!

DSC_0266

Wasn’t it so nice of McAlister’s, home of my very favorite unsweet iced tea, to make an itty bitty iced tea ornament?!

And last, but never least, my most favoritist lights!

123

Bubble lights!

They’re totes the coolest thing since pre-cooked bacon!

I hope y’all love your trees as much as I do!

Happy December 1st!

It’s Friday, Friday

I hope I’m not the only one who gets this song stuck in their head when they say, it’s Friday. Then you just have to go ahead and add the other Friday because well, the song is in your head as soon as the last syllable leaves your mouth.

Of course, I’m showing you the Glee version because Glee is my life. And well, I pretty much always prefer the Glee version to the real deal.

Like this song for example:

I just can’t help myself.

I’m weird. I know this. I’ve accepted it.

In other news, yesterday was Thanksgiving. I ate. I ate a lot.

Seriously. Check out my dessert plate.

010

Yes, that is a pile of whipped cream. To the side. I repeat, I’m weird.

See that lovely square of dessert? I made it with this:

008

Pumpkin spice pudding. In a word: Yum-i-licious.

I love Thanksgiving. It’s so full of food. And there’s always so much food. It’s just the best food-filled holiday, isn’t it? I suppose the family time is good too. Smile Especially if they bring food.

***We interrupt this program with late-breaking news!***

My doorknob fell off today. In my hand! What is going on I ask you?

So, my visiting grandmother and I put the dang thing back together and headed off to Lowe’s for a replacement.

014

Crisis averted. But, Shut the Front Door! Do I ever need to paint. Yikes!

We’ll now end our regularly scheduled programming with this bit of crazy cuteness:

015

Kitty cat lap blankets are the best. Smile

Happy Holidays!

House-iversary

One year ago, today, I moved into my new home.

Last year, it was raining.

Today, it's dry and crispy.

Last year, I couldn't believe I was buying my first home.

Today, I can't believe I've lived here for a year. It seriously feels like about 3 months.

Last year, I loved this house.

Today, I love this house.

Happy House-iversary to me!

And Happy Independence Day to us all!

Memorial Day

Today I'm remembering this man.

He's my Grandpa. We lost him in 2008, but I remember him every day. My whole life I knew he had been in the Navy, but to this day I still don't know what he did or where he went or what his rank was because to me, he was my Grandpa and that's a pretty important job.

Even though I don't know the details, I'm still glad that my Grandpa chose to serve his country. I have nothing but appreciation and respect for any man or woman who has chosen or chooses to do the same. It takes great strength and courage to put your life on the line for the protection and safety of others and I thank you all.

Happy Memorial Day.
