Milestones

I hit the 25 pounds down mark in WW today!

26.4 if we're being exact. I'm super pumped about it! I'd been the same every week for a month which was really depressing until last week when it finally started to drop again, but I was still .2 pounds away from that elusive 25. This week, though, I took the cake!

Well, I didn't actually take any cake or eat any cake, but cake does sound really tasty right now.

All I know is if you're willing to make the change in your life and make the decision to be a healthier version of you then Weight Watcher's can do amazing things.

Here's to 25 more!

P.S. All of my WW buddies are still MAJOR ROCKSTARS! We're all doing fabulously!

Oh, snap!

Snapping quick pics with my phone is one of my favorite things to do. I will take a picture of anything and everything. No, seriously. It doesn't matter what it is. If I find it the least bit interesting I will snap a quick pic and more often than not I text them to my friend Jesse.

I bet she anxiously awaits my incoming texts while biting her fingernails and pulling out all of her hair. I'm just sure she loves it. Right? You think she does, don't you? I mean, she's my best friend so surely she would tell me if I'm annoying. Yeah, she would totally tell me. She loves it. I can feel it in my bones.

What?! You think this jacket is hideous? Well, that's exactly why I took a picture of it. After I told my mom she should buy it and wear it, of course. I love doing that to her! Then I told her I was going to buy her this cute little Buzz and Woody suitcase for Mother's Day. And that t-shirt? I laughed for hours because I saw it in a store the week after my parents dogs were sprayed by a skunk. I'm such a good daughter. :-)

Seriously? Who wouldn't want documentation of the biggest soap dispenser ever, 35 cents in a toilet, and a giant glass head? If you can tell me who wouldn't find any of these interesting enough to take a picture you can have that 35 cents. But I'm not fishing it out of the toilet...

Need some Proactiv? Head to your nearest mall and buy it from the Proactic vending machine! A wine purse?! Count me in! My feet are my favorite model. I found this pile of salt and a plastic spoon when I went to the library the other day. I must not be "in the know" about this new way to stay awake for studying. I thought people just drank coffee?

You're intrigued aren't you? You wish I was texting you all of this awesomeness, don't you? Well, never fear! I've decided to update the ole blog with my phone pics on a regular basis. Stay tuned for more amazing randomness. It will be like nothing you've experienced before!

Oh, but wait! Don't leave just yet. Here, in all their marvelous glory, are my random phone pics from the previous week!

Both of these are from Sunday evening. I don't know why, but I'm madly in love with this tree. It has this giant dead branch shooting straight up the center, but it's still thriving. It's on the way to a couple of my friend's houses so I see it often, but Sunday evening the sky was incredibly blue which made the leaves incredibly green. It was gorgeous!

What? Did you just ask me why I was taking pictures with my phone while I was driving? Who says I was? You can't prove it.... Yeah... You can't... Please don't turn me in...

Do you know what happens when you go to Hobby Lobby to "kill some time?" You walk out with a tray, a metal ball, a metal bird, and a giant wooden @ sign, that's what. You know what happens when you go into DSW shoes? You walk out with these magnificent gold sandals. I. CAN. NOT. WAIT. TO WEAR. THESE.

So, uh, do you think my cat wants a bath? Or maybe she has dreams of riding a ferris wheel? How gorgeous is this passion flower? They're about to be growing wildly on the south end of my house and I can't wait! And last, but not least, my, oh so delicious, Weight Watcher friendly mushroom, spinach, and pesto pizza. YUM!

What will I take pictures of this week? The world may never know or maybe that's how many licks it takes to get to the center of the tootsie roll tootsie pop?

You'll definitely know next week. For sure, man.

MOH Chronicles: Part 1

Always a bridesmaid and never a bride? More like always the flower girl and never the bridesmaid for this girl! Ha! I've been a flower girl four different times (a super cute one!), but this will be my first stint as a bridesmaid, AND I'm Maid of Honor, to boot!

Who's getting married? One of my nearest and dearest friends, Jesse. The wedding plans have been underway for a while now, but I've only recently begun any preparation and planning on my part. I know, I know...I should be more involved, but we live one thousand, two hundred seventy three miles apart. More than a hop, skip, and a jump for sure, so it makes it hard for me to be involved more than just phone calls here and there.

But, before you tell me I'm the worst MOH ever, I am making her veil so that should totally earn me some MOH brownie points. :-)

Never having been a bridesmaid before I don't really know exactly what I'm supposed to do or if there is some specific order I should do things in so I've basically been flying by the seat of my pants. Not something I do easily. Being overly strange with obsessive tendencies will do that to a person. Plus, since I've been doing Weight Watchers to get rid of this extra person I'm carrying around on my hips, thighs, and butt I didn't want to start dress shopping too early.

Anyway, this is what I've accomplished so far:

1. Purchase various items for veil making
2. Purchase bride gift (no, Jesse, I will not tell you what it is!)
3. Lose 24 pounds!!! Go me!!!
4. Buy my dress
5. Nothing yet, but I think having a 5 on my list makes me look like I've been busy

I feel like I've really made headway now that the dress is ordered, and let me tell you, those chicks at David's Bridal sure thought I was a crazy for ordering my dress in April for a July wedding. I say it fits right in with my need to procrastinate. How does someone who is overly strange with obsessive tendencies deal with procrastination? Very well. Very well, indeed.

Without further ado, here's the dress.

I would like to say those are my legs, but I would be lying... The dress on the left is what I'll be wearing and the sash and peek-a-boo skirt from the dress on the right will be paired with it.

I'm thinking I could rock this bridesmaid bit and start a business. Bridesmaids For Hire. I would totally call them.

And now, I will entertain all of you with my favorite Jesse pictures. She's a hoot and a holler, and even though she's totally turning into a Yankee she'll always be a good ol' Southern girl in my eyes.

This is my favoritest picture of us ever. (Jesse is on the right)

And this is my secondest favoritest picture of us ever... Don't you just love Jesse's sunglasses? I tried them on, but they just made me look like a freaky bug. I can't wear hats without looking like some kind of freaky square headed weirdo either. It's a curse. It truly is.

My third favoritest picture of us is up there at the top with my profile info. Check it out.

This is a typical Jesse face. I told you she's a hoot and a holler!

Oh, Jesse, how you make me laugh. :-D

Have you ever seen anyone this happy to be in Pennsylvania? Jesse is ALWAYS this happy!

I love, love, love this picture, and not just because I took it and it turned out ok, but also because it's just beautiful. The scenery is beautiful (Niagara Falls) and Jesse is beautiful. Love it!

And last, but not least, my most favoritest picture of Jesse of all time, and I took it too!

The glasses really make it, don't you think?

Part 2 will be headed to a theater near you. Or a web page. Whatever. It's coming. That's what matters. As soon as I get my rear in gear, that is.

Party in My Pants!

Literally!

No, I'm serious. There's a party going on down there. It's a party for my new, skinner B-U-T-T because today I reached my 10% weight loss goal in Weight Watcher's. Yippy!

I'm really proud of myself and all of my WW buddies. We work really hard to eat better and just be better so that we can be healthier, happier people. We're rockstars! And this rockstar is shakin' her booty!

I would post a picture, but I'm not that much of a contortionist. Ha!

I know, you're thinking to yourself, "but didn't you take that picture of the cat on your butt?" Well, yes, I did, but I was able to do that because my arm is twisty not because I can bend like a rubber band. Although, it would be interesting if I could bend like a rubber band. I should look into that. Do you think there's a pill?

Erin Go Bragh!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all and to all a good night! Oh wait...it's still the afternoon? Am I that drunk already?!?!

I jest, I jest! How do you like my green? I think I'm safe from any pinchers. Ha!

I absolutely love St. Patrick's Day. It's such a happy day. The sun is shining. People are all decked out in green. Other people aren't and are now howling from the pinches. It's just fabulous! Plus, there's green beer...which I don't really drink, but hey, it looks festive!

I was just sitting here remembering March 17th's of the past and I thought of the first time I heard someone say "Erin Go Bragh!" I think it was my dad, but here's the deal...I heard it like this, "Air and go bra." Yes, that's right, I said bra. As in brassiere. As in over the shoulder boulder holder. As in...yeah, I got nothing. I actually thought women or men for that matter went to stores and purchased bras that could be aired up while on the go. Hey, it beats paying for breast implants!

According to Wikipedia Erin Go Bragh translates to "Ireland Forever" which suits me just fine since I want to go there so, so, so, so badly. Have I even told you the story of how I want to visit Ireland? Hmmm, I can't remember, but I'll check back through the archives and if it's not there I'll be sure to tell it soon. :)

As for tonight, I think I'll pass on the green beer, but I am going to treat myself to a Shamrock Shake and not the fatty one from Mickey D's either. The one I'm having comes straight from the Hungry Girl herself and it's a much healthier version. AND the Hungry Girl is...are you ready for this? Weight Watcher's endorsed!!! Yay!

My mouth is already watering with excitement!

Slainte!

Chick-uh-fil-ay-uh

I dated an older man once. Shocking? Perhaps, but I think most girls/women at least think about it and some of them, like me, actually do it. He was really quite nice and very kind to me and acted about 30 years younger than he actually was so if you think about it I was robbing the cradle in "mind" years. Ha!

He was a pig farmer (I assume he still is. I don't talk to him anymore because I tend to be a...how shall I put this nicely...? when I'm done with you, you're basically dead to me kind of girl). He was only a few years younger than my parents which didn't seem to bother my dad all that much, but my mom Could. Not. Stand. It. In fact, I think it's safe to say, she hated it. But, what's done is done, and I had made up my mind and there was no stopping me from what I wanted to do at the time.

The only thing I didn't like about the relationship other than his crazy ex-wife who called and left wacko messages on my answering machine were the pigs. I know I told you my dad raises pigs, but he doesn't force me or even really expect me to help out in any way. He would be delighted if I did, but stomping around in smelly poo mud isn't really my cup of tea. With the older man, I guess because I was trying to impress him, I would stomp around in poo mud and help him out. Can I just say guh-ross?! Well, I definitely don't miss this:

At all.

But, I did take one thing with me when the relationship was over, and that is, the way he pronounced Chick-fil-a. Which was like this: Chick-uh-fil-ay-uh. So funny, right? I thought so!

I <3 Chick-uh-fil-ay-uh! And today as I was leaving class walking down the hallway in the classroom building all I could smell were chicken sandwiches and my mouth was a waterfall of excitement! Then I got outside and the smell was like a blast of fresh Spring chciken flavored air! More waterfall mouth antics. Oh my, oh my, I could not stop thinking about the CHICKEN!! So, I got in my car and I went to Chick-uh-fil-ay-uh and I ordered a #5, 8 count with honey mustard and a large UNsweet iced tea. Delicious!

I know what you're thinking, though..."is that really on your WW menu? Should you really be eating that?" The answer is yes!! Everything is on my WW menu as long as I calculate the points plus values and subtract it out of my daily total, and honestly, as far as fast food goes Chick-uh-fil-ay-uh is one of the better ones, points wise.

This is really the only time I have waterfalls of the mouth over chicken, I'm usually a beef eater, but...ok, who am I kidding? I'm an equal opportunity meat eater unless you're a duck and then you can keep your feathers.

No Small Potatoes

Today was a good day. Today was WW week 9. Today I reached my 5% weight loss goal. Normally, I would think 5%?! that's small potatoes...mmmm, potatoes sound yummy...! For example, a 5% discount off of my $10 meal... 50 cents. 50 cents isn't a big deal to me so big whoop. A 5% discount at Kohl's (I'm in shock too! I thought everything was at least 30% off at Kohl's!) on a $500 vacuum cleaner... $25. When compared to 500, 25 just isn't that big of a deal. BUT, 5% of my total weight seems like a HUGE loss! I'm so proud of myself! And at the rate I'm going, I'll reach my next goal by Summer time! Bikini, here I come! Or not...LOL.

Days Gone By

I really can't believe there are only 4 days left in 2010! This year was a big one for me. Even though I'm still single (much to the disappointment of my mother) and I still only have cats for children (also to the disappointment of my mother) and I still haven't graduated college (I think everyone has moved beyond disappointed on that front) I've still done great things this year. The greatest being buying a house! I've talked about house hunting/buying for a few years, but never really thought I would be able to do it especially since it's just me with a single income. I mean, come on, buying a house is a HUGE expense, and I don't make the HUGE bucks, but with help from my family and the support of them and my friends, I did it, and I couldn't be happier. I love just being in my house. It's almost like it's not just a home, but a part of my family. Ha!

I really need to add some landscaping...
Also, this year, I have completed another semester of school (by the skin of my teeth...whew!) so that I now have 12 hours left before I'm (FINALLY!!) a graduate. I can't wait to be handed that diploma, and I'm so gonna frame it in the biggest, most obnoxious frame I can find. Heck, I might just dedicate a whole wall to it!

Another thing I've done, and this one was late in the year, but it still happened in 2010 so it totally counts is that I've chosen to make a lifestyle change which mostly involves making healthy choices. I, along with my mom and Tienna, joined Weight Watchers at Work (which I've done before, but at the time I wasn't ready to change my life for the better so it didn't stick). WW is an amzing program because it gives you the opportunity to choose. Diets have always depressed me because I feel like I'm being forced to eat leaves and grain all the time, and I feel like I can't ever have anything yummy. With WW I'm given a daily points target and everything has a points value so I get to come up with my own menu, and if I want to spend more than half my daily points on chocolate cake, I can because that's the choice I made that day. Now, does that mean I'll have to eat a ton of veggies so I won't starve the rest of the day? Yes, but sometimes, a gooey, drippy slice of chocolate cake is so totally worth it!

Well, I've only listed 3 things, but to me they were a big deal, and I'm sure if I thought about it, I've done way more, but I don't think anything will beat my top 3. :-) I hope 2011 is just as amazing for me as 2010 has been, and I hope it's awesome for everyone else as well!

Happy (almost) New Year!!
